From Scanner To Your Auction
Miscellaneous
Hints
- We can help you if you are willing to take it one step at a time. Lets start with you
setting your scanner at 72 dpi to scan your picture.
- I have seen this error in scanning your images lately. You have a large white space and a very small image, usually in the corner. This is caused by not checking your scanner setup to have it set to AutoCrop
- If you don't crop after you prescan, you will get the whole scanner bed as your picture with your actual image a small portion of it, like the picture on the left. The picture on the right is the same scanner using Auto-Crop
.
- Some scanners require that you crop the image yourself by drawing a box around the image after you prescan. When it has scanned, go to the upper left of your screen to FILE, select SAVE AS, this will bring up a smaller window.
- Look to
see where you want to save it to, like your "My Documents" (this is important so that you can find it later when you need it, don't
laugh, many people lose their pictures and never do find them).
- You will need to give your picture a
name, (keep it short, all lower case letters, and no spaces). Then at the bottom, use the little down arrow
called a drop down menu, select jpg/jpeg and then click on save to save it.
- Next you will have to prepare your picture before you can upload it to a hosting server so follow the two
links below.
To: Resize, Crop, Convert pictures to JPG, and more, use this FREE
image editor called IrfanView
Then when you have your pictures ready for your auction, you can go to at the top of any page or use a imaging host to keep it for you and it is there that you will get your URL to place into your auction.
They will even place it into your auction for you, just follow their directions. Here are some Image Hosting Sites
