Taking Pictures On A Budget

For all of you that think that you cannot take good photos for your auctions, look at what you can do for a little bit of money, something that so many of us are short of.

My wife Alice went to the shed, dragged out a crate, some used PVC pipe, and a couple of reflector lamps that we had. These are a low cost lamps and work good enough for us.

She cut and fitted the pipe to what she wanted, didn't use any cement because she feels that she can take it apart and add perches where she needs them.

She went to Home Depot and bought a white window shade (you can get different colors) and another reflector lamp. Also picked up a package of 100 watt GE Reveal Bulbs . We haven't had to use and diffusers yet.

It sure ain't pretty but hey, it is very low cost, paid for, and does a good enough job for our needs.

Here is the set-up and the end results of a photo, you be the judge.

The measurements are, The PVC setup is 2'6" high
4' wide
16" deep
The shade was 4' wide when we bought it but we cut it in half, 2' is wide enough for most items.

Alice covered the shade with a black cloth to take the bottom picture.
